Certified German–Polish translations: how to prepare your documents

How to prepare documents for a certified translation

Do you need a German document translated into Polish, or a Polish document translated into German? A clear scan and a short explanation of how you will use the document make it easier to assess your request.

Which documents can be translated?

Typical examples include birth and marriage certificates, registration certificates, school records, university diplomas, and court or notarial documents. Whether a certified translation is required depends on the institution receiving the document. Ask the authority, court, university, or employer about its requirements before placing your order.

What should you include in your request?

Send a legible scan or photo of every page, including the reverse side, stamps, handwritten notes, and attachments. Tell us the language direction and where the translation will be used. Do not send the original unless it is specifically required.

After reviewing your documents, you will receive a price quote. Once you accept it, the certified translation is prepared. For typical documents, completion usually takes 24 to 48 hours; length, legibility, and complexity may affect the timing. If you have a deadline, mention it when you enquire.

Digital delivery with a qualified electronic signature

A qualified electronic signature (QES) can be arranged on request. Digital delivery is suitable only if the receiving institution accepts it. Please confirm whether a paper copy is also required.

Documents for a Polish civil registry office

Article 31 of Poland’s Civil Status Records Act provides for an official Polish translation of foreign-language documents, including by a sworn translator authorised to make such translations in an EU or EEA country. The receiving authority may have additional requirements, so check with it before submitting your documents.
